Kino Kabaret Sydney is back - and in our 5th year we have organised the biggest Kino Kabaret yet!
Occurring over three weekend sessions, Kino Kabaret Sydney will begin on the 17th November and run Saturday 10am – Sunday 10pm each weekend till the 2nd December.
To help us kick off Kino Kabaret in Australia, we are inviting international Kino participants to this year’s festival!
To assist one lucky filmmaker we are offering AUS $1,000 to put towards their flight to sunny Australia.

WHO CAN ATTEND?
We are inviting Kino members from around the world to attend Sydney’s Kino Kabaret!
Anyone can apply to take part in Sydney’s Kino Kabaret. Just fill in the application form and you are on your way to participating!
WHEN WILL I NEED TO BE IN SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA?
You will need to be in Sydney and ready for action 10am November 17th!
Each Kino Kabaret session will occur on the weekend, beginning Saturday 10am in Paddington, Sydney. Films will be screened on the Sunday at 7pm and will be accompanied by a screening party - you will of course be attending!
Dates for the filmmaking marathons and screening parties you will need to attend are as follows:
November 17-18 (screening on the evening of the 18th)
November 24-25 (screening on the evening of the 25th)
December 1st-2nd (screening on the evening of the 2nd)
From Monday – Friday you will have free time with no commitments to Kino so you can do as you please! Why not check out the famous Bondi Beach or climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge! If you are brave enough you could head to Kings Cross...?
WHAT ABOUT ACCOMMODATION ?
We are also able to help as many international participants as possible with accommodation during their stay!
Kino Sydney members are more than happy to lend a couch or spare room.
As this year’s Kabaret in Sydney falls over 3 consecutive weekends, participants may need to stay at a few different locations throughout their time in Australia.
HOW DO I GET THE $1,000 CASH TO ASSIST WITH MY FLIGHTS?
Attached to this document is an application form for international Kino members.
Just fill it in, let us know what you could bring in terms of skills and experience to Sydney’s Kino Kabaret and you will be in the running to be selected!
We will announce who will receive the money by Friday 31st August so keep an eye on your emails.
If you do not receive the grant, we would still love you to attend! We can still put you in touch with Kino Sydney participants who will be able to offer you free accommodation.
